           Principle of initiative





Initiative  refers to the ability to decide independently or initiative refers to taking the first step with self motivation.

  

According to this principle HENRI FAYOL advocates the employees in the organisation must be given an opportunity to take part / participate in decision making.
So, manager must welcome the suggestion and ideas of employees before framing plans. Once decision are taken then every employee must follow plan whether it is according to employees suggestion or not . It means chalking out the plan and implementing the same.



∆ Advantages of following this principle :-

   1. Motivation among employees.
   2. Improves ability to make decisions.
   3. Develop feeling of belongingness.

☆ Disadvantages of violation this principle :-
   1. Demotivation among employees.
   2. Initiative level decreases.
   3. Leads to frustration among employees.
