Nature of Management
Management:
In simplest terms management is an art of getting things done from others.
“Management is defined as the process of planning, organising, actuating and controlling an organisation’s operations in order to achieve coordination of the human and material resources essential in the effective and efficient attainment of objectives.”
According to Robert L. Trewelly and M. Gene Newport
Early management practices were a set of rules and regulations born from experience in government and commercial activity. The development of trade and industry gradually led to the development of his management principles and practices.
The term "management" today has several different connotations that highlight different aspects of its nature. The study of management has evolved over time with modern organizations. It is based on managerial experience and practice, as well as a set of theoretical relationships. Over time, has evolved into a dynamic theme with his unique features.
But one question that must be answered about the nature of management is whether it is a science, an art, or both.
To answer that, let's examine the characteristics of both science and art and see how well management meets them.
